Student education is the primary goal of research in chemistry at URI. The PhD degree is research based, and all undergraduate students are encouraged to get involved in research early and stay involved throughout their studies.

Shared Instrument Facilities
The Teknor-Apex Laboratory, located in the Beaupre Center, is our main shared-research area, housing state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation.
INBRE Centralized Research Core Facility
This NIH-funded shared resource for biomedical research is housed in the URI College of Pharmacy, which is near the Beaupre Center.

The NSF has funded several core instrument facilities at URI for research in fields such as nanoscience, proteomics, and high performance computing.
