Safety Training

Here at the URI Department of Chemistry, we take safety very seriously. By becoming proficient in safety skills and procedures, you are helping to maintain a safe working environment for you and your peers. In addition, in a situation where an accident or emergency arises, you will be equipped with the tools to respond in a helpful manner, whether it be calling Emergency Medical Services if a peer becomes ill, or knowing how to contain and clean up a spill to prevent injury. We hope that you will take safety as seriously as we do, because you never know when an emergency could occur, and being prepared is the first step in safety.
